About Us
The Lexington Psychoanalytic Study Group is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization affiliated with the American Psychoanalytic Association. This group seeks to bring members across various clinical and academic disciplines together who are interested in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapies. It was formed by Virginia Blum, Ph.D. (Professor of English, University of Kentucky (UK)), Debra Katz, M.D. (psychiatrist/psychoanalyst in private practice) and Jeffrey Tuttle, M.D. (psychiatrist/psychoanalyst in private practice). These members completed psychoanalytic training at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute and were excited to establish the first psychoanalytic professional group in Lexington.
